Mostly Christmas Projects from Carrie and Kate

I never know what order the pictures will come out in, but you should be able to figure out which is which. I made a felt applique gingerbread house and loved the way it turned out. I finally finished the nativity set for Mom. She already had the Angel, Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus. I did the cross-stitch of Christ for Jacob's family. The picture really doesn't do it justice. Kate did the YW cross-stitch for her friend who just turned 12.

Lexi's Quilt

I finished the quilt I was making for Lexi. It is one of the first quilts I have made. Ok so I made a couple of others but this is the first time that I followed directions and made a real quilt. I even quilted it with my sewing machine. It was so fun! I followed a tutorial online at obsessivelystitching.blogspot.com. It is called my first quilt ever. It was a really good tutorial if anyone else wants to try it.

I am also making a matching rag quilt, car seat cover, diaper clutch, and my friend is making a matching diaper bag. Lexi will be all decked out!

Some new cross stitches.

This is Kate's second cross stitch ever. She made it for Leslee's daughter. The other is a cross stitch I did for Jason's bassoon teacher who just got married.

First Quilts

I've never made a quilt before, but I have always wanted to. I started out small, the monkey one is a baby quilt and the other one I made for my Mother-in-law (in a day and a half) for her birthday. It is a lap quilt. But so far it has been fun and I have been happy with the end result.

Quilt Square

This is a quilt square for a 50th anniversary quilt. The yellow shows the places the couple have visited during their marriage. It was a lot of work, but it's done and I'm happy with the piece.

Flowers

I made these today. Three of the four flowers are made out of ribbon and the fourth is out of fabric. Pretty easy, and I think they turned out cute.

FINISHED!!!!

I finally finished "Peaceful Morning II". It's my first Mystic Stitch and I love the way it turned out. I'll put another picture once I get is framed.

More Christmas projects.

I'm finally getting around to downloading pictures from my camera. These were my last two Christmas projects. One is the nativity set I cross stitched for Mom. The other two are a set of ornaments I made for my mother-in-law. They are Mill Hill beaded ornaments and I had a blast making them.

Advent Calendars

For the last couple of years I've made felt applique advent calendars for the siblings whose names we have for Christmas. This year it was Cathy (the Christmas Tree) and Tierza (Nativity Scene). They are fun, but a lot of work. Luckily they turn out pretty good and are a lot of fun each Christmas season.

2009 Christmas Ornaments

Every year I make a Christmas ornament to give friends. This year I did plastic canvas ornaments. I chose this because my kids could help me make them. To my surprise, Preston also offered to help during General Conference. We were able to get all 50 done. I've never been done with my ornaments so early.

Infant Carrier Canopy

I have seen a few of these around lately and wanted to try to make one. I think it turned out pretty cute. It was way easy! I really like the flowers too, though I think the next time they will look a little better.

Bags

Some bags that Debbie taught me how to make. She makes them all sizes and they are soo soo easy. I use these two for diaper bags.

Rag Quilt

This is the most recent rag quilt that I have made. I used cotton material with a layer of flannel on the inside.
